Our client located in RTP, NC has an immediate opening in the IT Asset Management group for an IT Asset Management Specialist. This is a contract opportunity for approximately 4 months.

Job Responsibilities

  • The IT Asset Management department is responsible for receipt, distribution and reconciliation of corporate inventory. Assignments typically include storeroom maintenance, receipt and delegation of equipment to appropriate business units and physical inventory reconciliation. Additionally, the IT Asset Management Specialist will perform technical duties required to facilitate system distribution.
  • The IT Asset Management Specialist processes business critical hardware requests, tracks shipments and provides status reports through a working knowledge of ITAM Systems and databases. Additionally, the IT Asset Management Specialist applies technical knowledge to image corporate systems, perform hardware installations and call in warranty repairs. Job Responsibilities include:
  • Receipt of corporate technology assets (hardware, software, services)
  • Review and verify purchase requisitions
  • Properly stock ITAM Warehouse and update IT Asset Management databases
  • Monthly physical evaluation of corporate technology assets
  • Works closely with Support Services Management to meet quarterly goals
  • Facilitate retirement and disposal of corporate technology systems
  • Facilitates Return Merchandise Authorizations and Materials discrepancy reports for defective or unwanted technology assets
  • Call in warranty repairs, understand functionality issues and technical terms
  • Pre-image upgrades of memory, hard drives and devices
  • Apply technical knowledge and understanding to image corporate systems
  • Assist maintain PC loaner Pool
  • Assist provide hardware and software reports where needed
  • Assist maintain Software & Hardware Technology Life Cycle Reports
  • Creates Standard and Technical operating Procedures as needed
  • Completes other functions relating to ITAM as needed

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, and some inventory and stock room experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Other Requirements

  • Ability to work independently, proactively, and is able to set priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Possess good Interpersonal, good organizational, excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to support the day-to-day operations of ITAM
  • Must be a team player and able to multitask
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as required
  • Ability to maintain stability of performance under pressure
  • Follows directions and complies with Standard and Technical Operating Procedures
  • Ability to lift 30bs independently
  • Technical support experience with basic understanding of MS Windows
  • Must be able to type approximately 30 words per minute. All candidates are required to take an online typing assessment.
  • MS Office experience with moderate Access knowledge
  • Ability to grasp concepts, show initiative and provide process improvements to advance the teams effectiveness
