Payroll Specialist

Job Description

The Greene Resources Payroll Specialist ensures that employees and vendors receive their compensation in an accurate and timely manner. The Payroll Specialist establishes payroll policies and procedures, reviews processes and makes recommendations for efficiencies, stays current on all payroll issues pertaining to all companies and assists in processing of payroll.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the process for internal and contract payroll and commissions using in-house system and ADP payroll services
  • Maintain internal termination spreadsheet
  • Manage Service Contract Act (SCA) Standard Operating Procedure (Anniversary dates, Vacation Overtime, PTO and Holiday Pay)
  • Review payroll batches
  • Review customer gross profit reports
  • Generate Invoice Summary and Register reports
  • Field and process manual checks, wage garnishments and stop payment requests
  • Track and follow up on pays issued at minimum wage
  • Prepare QuickBooks invoices for retro pay, bonuses, incentives and deductions
  • Review project codes and request corrections for invalid codes
  • Answer invoice inquiries from clients
  • Complete wage verification's
  • Complete invoices/bills in QuickBooks for out of state employees and invoice funding
  • Generate, edit, and submit paper and electronic invoices
  • Generate, edit and submit Project Manager Invoice for client
  • Review client Delivery Orders and maintain tracking sheet
  • Enter bill/process payment for employee medical insurance
  • Review ADP Quarterly Tax Verification Report
  • Process and maintain appropriate payroll reports
  • Assist in processing of payroll for other companies and other duties as needed

Other Requirements

  • 2-3+ years payroll experience
  • Experience with processing payroll of 300+
  • Experience with multi-state payroll preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation desired
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Customer service oriented
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent time management and judgment skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written correspondence, including business interactions and Internet communication
  • Knowledge of payroll systems including ADP (Great Plains a plus)
