The Raleigh Wake Human Resources Management Association will have their June Monthly Meeting, “Millennials: Employer Expectations vs. Reality,” on June 21st at the PNC Arena.
As of 2015, the largest generation in the workforce is now the millennial group. HR professionals understand the value these employees bring to our organizations with their fresh ideas, technological savvy and flexibility. However, we do not always understand their communication styles. National studies show that employers can become frustrated with the perceived lack of certain, basic written and verbal communication skills amongst the millennial population. There seems to be a disconnect at times between the millennials themselves and their employers in the work environment. Members of Meredith College and NC State University are working to gain an understanding of what our local HR community thinks and expects of this generation.
The cost is $33 to register for the monthly meeting and RSVPs are accepted until June 17. Participants will leave with a much greater understanding of strategies to immediately implement in various situations to motivate millennials and to bridge the communication gap.
