Up to $32/hour | EHS Technician | Durham, NC

Position: EHS Technician

Location: Durham, NC 

Pay: $28 to $32/hour

Experience: 3 years of hazardous materials or waste-handling experience.

Education: High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Type: Full-time; Contract -to-hire

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm or 6:30am to 3:00pm

Greene Resources is seeking an EHS Technician to join a growing and dynamic team!   

Job Description: 

1. Handle, store, and manage hazardous waste in compliance with applicable regulations.
2. Identify waste streams and support proper classification and disposal.
3. Prepare and maintain accurate shipment documentation.
4. Update spreadsheets and enter data into databases with a high level of accuracy.
5. Review numbers, track expenses, and reconcile invoices.
6. Process purchase requisitions, including in SAP.
7. Support industrial hygiene sampling, safety observations, and job hazard analyses.
8. Operate a forklift to move and stage materials.
9. Drag, lift, and maneuver 50-lb drums.
10. Work outdoors for most of the shift.
11. Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.

Position Requirements:    

1. Valid U.S. driver’s license.
2. Ability to operate a forklift or obtain forklift certification.
3. DOT Hazardous Materials Basics and RCRA training preferred.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets and data entry.
5. Comfort working with numbers, tracking expenses, and reconciling invoices.
6. SAP and purchase requisition experience preferred.
7. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
8. Clear verbal and written communication skills.
